Desire Line - Dianne Firth

In landscape terminology a desire line is the pathway people take across a piece of land. It is usually regarded as the shortest route and yet it is seldom a straight line. The use of the triptych for this quilt and the progressive shading of the panels also represent the pathway through life from youth to maturity and old age.
