This piece is my own abstraction of Burqa and Kurdish
Rug. The memories are fading, the detail of the burqa
is gone and the coins float in the air. The brightly
coloured pattern of the rug is relegated to monotone
quilting, and the cross stitch takes a larger role and
is stronger.
The gold quilted panel in the upper right corner is
from a pattern photographed in Iran - a more recent
souvenir overlaying the older memories.
